Brandon Sanderson Biography
Most popular for his Infinity Blade series, Brandon Sanderson is a young fantasy/ fiction writer who has written many popular titles. Brandon wasn’t really interested in writing until one of his grade school teachers gave him the book Dragonslayer by Barbara Humbly. And the rest is history.
By the age of 8 Brandon began to write for the first time and even though those first attempts were disastrous he continue to persevere. He began to master his craft and when he was a senior in college he volunteered for The Leading Edge, a science fiction/fantasy magazine where he eventually became an Editor. Volunteering gave him the understanding of how the business side of writing was and it proved to help him in his career later on.
In 2005 his first book Elantris became published and his career finally began to launch. The next book he had written that became published was his young adult novel Alcatraz Versus the Evil Librarians. Not too long after Sanderson published the books sequel Alcatraz Versus the Scriveners Bones. Eventually Tor Books a popular publishing company published Sanderson's book called Warbreaker in 2009. Originally Sanderson published the book on his website one chapter at a time while he continued to the novel which took him the years 2006 to 2009 to complete. The final version of the book was what Tor Books had published. The novel was released under what is known as a Creative Commons license which means it is available either printed from Tor itself or as a free download from Sanderson's site. That same year Sanderson published the third Alcatraz book in the series called Alcatraz Versus the Knights of Crystallia. This book which follows protagonist Alcatraz as he and his companions continue to fight against the cult of evil librarians.
Over the next couple of years Brandon’s books helped him to win The David Gemmel Legend Award six times, the Romantic Times Reviewer’s Choice award for Best Epic Fantasy, the #1 spot on the New York Times Hardcover Fiction Best-Seller List six times and a Mistborn video game. Sanderson has also been nominated for countless awards, making this fantasy author pretty much legendary.
