    What is the best RPG?

It's great to hear people talk about The Legend of Dragoon - it's such a niche title I thought I was one of the only people to play it :) AyameMajokku - have you played Xenoblade Chronicles by any chance? It's right up there with The Last Story in my opinion (as a fellow Wii RPG.) What about...

September- what fantasy book are you reading?

Just finished Emperor of Thorns (and with it The Broken Empire Trilogy.) It has quite easily become one of my favourite series' and a large part of that is to do with its main character (Jorg Ancrath.) He's one of the most interesting characters I've read about - he's unpredictable, brutal...

October - What Are You Reading?

I used to feel the same way, but then as someone pointed out (Danica I think?) there are far too many good books out there to waste time on reading stuff that doesn't hold my interest.

    Baldur's Gate 3

I think some of you might be interested to know that there are "Enhanced Edition's" of Baldur's Gate and Baldur's Gate 2 on the way and, if they sell well enough, Overhaul Games (the developers) will be given the go-ahead to start work on Baldur's Gate 3. Here's a link to the Wikipedia article...

    I just bought...

Hahah I'd certainly subscribe to that thread. It's the same with Christmas/Birthday gifts - I order all my stuff online so I tend to lose track pretty quickly (especially with pre-orders).

Yeah I can see where you're coming from (with Kylock). I liked Baralis though - he got a fair bit of 'screen time' (which is unusual for traditional fantasy) and his relationships with Crope(?) and Maybor were some of the highlights for me. To each their own though :)

October - What Are You Reading?

Thanks Guys, it's good to be back contributing. I can definitely understand your reluctance afa. I think the biggest problem with books from that time (and earlier) is that authors tend to place a big emphasis on exposition and technical writing rather than on the story/characters. I suppose...

The Book of Words is a sound trilogy. For the most part it's a fairly traditional story, but it combines a great antagonist with some of the bleakness/grittiness of ASOIAF.

October - What Are You Reading?

Well I haven't been on here in a while (recently changed jobs and that took up a lot of my time). Anyway, straight back into it, I've just finished reading The Books of the North, Silver Spike and The Books of the South by Glen Cook given all the recommendations people were dishing out. I...

August - What are you reading?

One tragic tale followed by another. Nice choice.

July - What are you reading?

Got through Warbreaker! It was a good book overall, but as I find with most of Sanderson novels the ending felt a bit rushed (and it also has the most annoying character that Sanderson has ever created in Vivenna. Despite that, I liked it - the magic system felt like a combination of...

    Your favourite ending? (Spoiler FREE!)

I was more referring to the ends of the individual books, rather than the end of the series as a whole. But yeah, The Crippled God is a pretty fitting conclusion to the 'main' sequence.

    Are we nerds?

Having majored in Physics and Mathematics, I definitely lie on the Nerd end of the spectrum.

    Your favourite ending? (Spoiler FREE!)

Hmmmm I like this topic, there aren't too many endings that stick in my mind. Actually, on second thought, there are two authors that stand out in my opinion (Robert Jordan and Steven Erikson). Although they're worlds apart in terms of style, they both know how to build up toward (and deliver) a...
