Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Involvement with the decades-long preproduction of Michael Moorcock's "Eternal Champion" novels. Lots of rock music preproduction but Moorcock was continuously dissatisfied with Hollywood-exec-mentality.

The plan as I understand it, was to have David Bowie and Lemmy Kilmister spearhead the feel of the film by scoring it. In private correspondence, Lemmy seemed to be "out" of the film plan by the early 1990's. They both recently passed. Hopefully the popularity of Bowie's song in the "Guardians of the Galaxy" franchise will renew interest for a rock-driven, alien fantasy epic.

I just finished the novel and film previs for my own story, first in a trilogy. If that takes off, perhaps I can renew my correspondence with Mr. Moorcock about getting an EC film made. Personally I'm more partial to the Corum stories to start: same magical world, with a more sympathetic hero imo.
