    2017 reading highlights / lowlights

The best I read this year was Lord of Light by Roger Zelazny. No real lowlights for me as I did not read much. The death's in Memories of Ice were probably the lowest.

    Scary books for October

I have been thinking about this subject a lot since I posted. I have read many horror novel's, mostly by the same author's. Two of my favourite's which I would recommend are Peter Straub and James Herbert. Peter Straub's classic novel Ghost Story is excellent. I would also recommend Mr X and...

Hyperion is the darkest sci-fi I have read. The 2 PKD novel s I have read Ubik and Scanner darkly are both pretty dark.

    I just bought...

I have just had a bit of a binge on book buying after my local bookstore harldy had anything I wanted. So the postman was busy. The problem with big fantasy books is they don't go through the letterbox, we need somebody to create a special large letterbox for avid fantasy readers. Bought a...

It's September 2017 - What fantasy books are you reading?

I read the Patrick Ness YA trilogy a couple of years ago after geeting them as presents. They are quite lightweight compared to other stuff but fun none the less. I read the third book right after I finished GOTM so it made a really nice contrast. Gunslinger does start slow and I can see why...

My Stephen King booklist. What's yours?

I've read over 50. It is only the newest and the obscure stories I've not read yet. I re-read Insomnia recently. I will re-read Pet Semetary next. You have these to look forward to plus the last four Dark Tower. All great books. Desperation and The regulators are linked but they are hard to...
