Too many times recently I've read a highly recommended book, only to be let down by the characters, who are so boring it ruins any sort of enjoyment I may have otherwise taken from the book. So either list, or recommend me, books with utterly likeable characters, who don't take themselves too...

I'm currently listening to the audiobook of Will Save the Galaxy for Food by Yahtzee Croshaw, and it is absolutely positively fantastically amazing, I love it! Halfway in, or there thereabouts.

Is anyone up for a year end reading challenge? @Alucard did one a few years back which I thought was great. I'd happily get one going for the end of this year if enough folk are interested? I'll definitely make it impossible to complete though, just to forearm ;)
