    Long Series Recommendation

Oh, also, there are some folks that dig Thomas Covenant, which is a somewhat lengthy, completed series. The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant, the Unbeliever Lord Foul's Bane – (1977) The Illearth War – (1978) ("Gilden-Fire" - first published 1981)[1] The Power that Preserves – (1979) The Second...

    Long Series Recommendation

You said long series and nobody in this thread has said Riftwar Cycle yet? Parts of this series are (or have been at one point) on the top 25 series list. It's huge- and it's completed. The Riftwar Saga (top quality) Magician (1982), later republished in two parts in the United States as...

    Post your Phobia

Me too, but that's more of a pet peeve than a phobia. Mine isn't an official medical phobia I don't think, but I am horrible around needles. If I can see the needle, or have to have blood drawn, I have to take anxiety medication and lay down to do it. I have blacked out because someone tried to...

A Memory of Light: Chapters 41 - End

Necroposting to let everyone know that Bela did not die. Her entry in the WoT Companion states she survived, so if you still care nearly 3 years on, you can rest easy now.

The NEW BFB Members Rankings List

I've just sent mine in, @Derk of Derkholm . I assumed 1 was the lowest score I could give out, or I would have rated some things -10, like Tigana, right @Danica ? I also added a new series that I think I may be the only person on the board has read, but it's entertaining. It's a 4 book series...

December! What fantasy books are you reading?

Made it to The Dragon Reborn, book 3 of my WoT reread. Will likely pick Malazan back up early next year and try to polish it off on audible, while I read WoT on my kindle.

December! What fantasy books are you reading?

Reread of The Great Hunt. Third of the way through it so far. Stopped listening to Midnight Tides as i got a quarter through it and it was putting me to sleep. I'd like to pick up the WhisperSync versions of the Wheel of Time but they are roughly $18 per book (22 for the final book) and it seems...

November 2015 - What fantasy book are you reading?

I am still sort of listening to Midnight Tides. I don't know what it is, everyone says this is the book that hooks them and they love it, but to me it's boring as fuck and I can't get into it. I'm a little over a fifth of the way through it. So, secondarily, my copy of Wheel of Time companion...

No, being a man is not 'easy mode'.

agreed, the only reason I was my usual eloquent, well-spoken and articulate self earlier today instead of just shutting this flamewar down is because this is in Anything and doesn't spill over to the other forums. I will stand by my opinion that this topic is done to death to rather insane...

No, being a man is not 'easy mode'.

Have either of you ever convinced someone holding the opinion of your adversary in this thread that you were right or that your points had merit? I'm guessing no, because you are both so far up your own asses neither of you can give the other a single concession. This is one of the stupidest...

August 2015 - What fantasy books were we reading?

@Sir Arthur @moonspawn I'm hoping you guys are right about this being better than the prior four. From what I understand, Midnight Tides is set far in the past and focuses on Trull Sengar, who had a minor part in House of Chains. Unfortunately, his parts in house of chains were mind numbingly...

August 2015 - What fantasy books were we reading?

I finished Skull Throne last night and House of Chains this morning. On to Midnight Tides, I guess.

What Game are you Playing ?

Terraria just got a giant update so I'm playing that. I'll probably switch over to Diablo 3 when the next big patch comes out in the next month or two.

Which forum member would you fight in a duel and what would be your weapon of choice?

I will find @Jon Snow and I will duel him. My weapon of choice is a tennis ball cannon. I'll laugh and laugh as the sound of a tennis ball making contact with @Jon Snow 's forehead echoes throughout the world. Also, I will record it and make him watch it every Christmas morning.

July 2015. What fantasy books were we reading?

Well after a really long time I have finally updated my signature. I am currently reading House of Chains, 85% through with it on audio. Been slow going on it. Aside from Karsa's parts, this has been my least favorite Malazan book so far. I snuck in the Bauchelain and Korbal Broach trilogy last...

    The travel thread

I'm from Tennessee originally, so if I heard banjo music I'd just go have a hootinany/hoe-down with them fellers and drink some of their hooch.

    The travel thread

I'm going to the Tennessee mountains in July... not quite as sexy as going somewhere in Europe but I got a nice cabin with no internet for a week and I get to drive to Knoxville once or twice for barbecue and stuff.
