It's very good. New setting, new characters except for three of the major and well loved characters from the Powder Mage series. But if you haven't read the second and third of the Powder Mage series you definitely should. It's one for the ages.

I don't know. I've only read the first book of his Traveler's Gate Trilogy. I didn't really care for it. But, I might give his other books a try at some point.
