I was talking to my mother the other day and she remembered reading a fantasy book that she really liked; which is a surprise because she doesn't like fantasy books. She couldn't remember the author or the book title so I hope someone might remember it. This is what I have to go on:
  • She read it when I was a baby, so that is around 1978. I would assume that it was written in the 70s.
  • A fantasy book set in a medieval era (England) that had lots of magic
  • Featured a skeleton army, which she said helped the hero (but she could be wrong about that)
  • She made it sound like a lighthearted fantasy book with a lot of action and satire; focused around a family.
Thanks your help.

Hmm, might be part 2 of "The lord of the Rings", if those skeletons are maybe not skeletons but ghosts :D

Sounds like evil dead 3: Bruce Campbell vs the army of darkness, the novelization.
