To be fair though, Rajwible is not the easiest name.
That's just the letters of my full name mashed together. My first name is Randi. Not short for anything, that's all there is. So that's what I meant in my post. Haha. I forgot I didn't put that out there. Sorry.

Oh! And thanks. They are some handsome kitties. :p

Resurrecting a really old thread because @atheling and I went to adopt a new cat today. No name yet. He is a 9-month-old boy. (Sorry for the massive file size. )

I believe I have increased my menagerie as well since last I posted.
I still have the pueblen milk snake.
I have a small lizard. And three budgies. And a yellow winged parakeet. (Small parrot)

Sorry no pictures, but I haven't refigured out how to post pics

Find an image hosting site (I use imgur.com, but there are many others), upload a picture and use the BBcode for message boards.
And this is my lovely cat:

I have a dog, a cat (sort of - he's an infrequent visitor and may have passed on it's been so long since we saw him), 2 goldfish and 10 gerbils.

Why 10?

Because my 2 male gerbils became the happy parents of 9 babies (and daddy is away back to the pet shop)

Argggghhh!

Won't that lead to 100 new gebrils as soon as the babies become sexually mature? Or don't they go in for relatives?

Sadly no current pets - so I am posting this in memoriam.

PS Gerbils have no taboo about relative - within the same generation or not. Get
A) rid of them, or
B) a lot of separate cages, or
C) a highly specialised recipe book.

I seem to remember gerbils getting along fairly well in same-sex groups. (Not to be confused with hamsters, which are solitary unless they are one of the dwarf varieties.) So it is possible to keep males separate from females and not have babies. With rodents, it is not so difficult to tell when they are adults. (The problem is that it is a bit more difficult when they are juveniles, especially because you can't tell them to sit still while you look under their tails.)

I once had a guinea pig who had two babies. The last one in the cage with her (my mom made us give one away) was a boy. She got pregnant again...we separated the babies from mom a lot sooner that time. (For the record, guinea pigs are born with all their fur, eyes open, and able to eat solid food, unlike other rodents, although they do still nurse sometimes.)

That made me remember this news story: http://www.nu.nl/opmerkelijk/3796864/cavia-bezwangert-honderd-vrouwtjes-kinderboerderij.html

It's in Dutch, but Google Translate should help. I am so proud of that guinee pig (cavia in Dutch).

Officially, he was 'Oscar' (well, semi-officially. He had a long Kennel-Club name that nobody ever remembered) but he was generally called (and occasionally answered to "Monster"
"Monster" was also used as a verb, for the sort of welcome family members got after more than 10 minutes absence.

He does! 16 weeks old on Thursday. He's already half as big as Smudge, our preceding cat, who's going to be 6 this year!

I always promised my girlfriend we'd get a cat once we'd have our own house. It wasn't possible earlier because we rented. We moved 1 november and we now have our own cat since halfway november

Only thing I can say is ... I really hate the animal. This promise is one of the biggest mistakes of my life. I've never been into pets, never had one at home, but I thought i'd be Ok with it in the end. Turns out i'm not. It's an annoying and filthy animal. Unfortunately my girlfriend loves it so I'm stuck with it. Really difficult situation for the moment.
