Interesting. But before I do the math, are we talking only series on our Top 25 list or any fantasy series?

What about books that are trilogy on top of a trilogy? Does it all count as one or separate series?

Are we differentiating the series we plan to complete from series we are not completing by choice.

.Maybe I missed it but just sayin' ...

You'll find this in the opening post, the blue letters are a link to the list on the home page.
How many of the Top 25 Fantasy Books have you read?
This question only refers to that particular list.

As far as I understood people are counting like this
read at least 1 book from series/trilogy - as partial read
read all trilogy/series/standalone - as a complete read

Although i've always been fascinated by fantasy, i began exploring it only recently... and it took me like eight or nine months just to read the entire Wheel of time series, so.... :p
Anyway, most of these books are on my "to-read" list ;)
Now i'm reading Heitz's "The Dwarves".
Hope it doesn't take me another year to finish

You just wait until you get round to Malazan Book of the Fallen ;)

(8 months is good going for WoT .. took me around 4 years on and off!)

13 complete series read, 2 (Malazan and Locke Lamora) first book read but somehow not inclined to continue.

So still some potential in the list for me.

Best regards,
Andy

My kids (10 & 11, liked "Bartimaeus", "Eragon", "Harry Potter" and "Percy Jackson" so far) are also reading that one at the moment, and from what I gather they like it. Might also give it a try.

Best regards,
Andy

I've read ten by now.
Five of them i've completed so far (The Blade Itself, KingKillerChronicles, Way of Kings, Black Company, Farseer)
some of the others I will complete (Lies of Locke Lamora (Book 1) , MBotF (Book 4), and Dresden Files (Book 2))
Others however I'm not going to "finish" (Wheel of Time (Book 8) and Bartimäus (Book2))

I Have Completed 15 of the Series on the list... Should start on the 16'th sometime after new years..

Some I liked more than others but they were all worth the read...

My favorite on the list is the Stormlight Archive

The biggest surprise for me was the Cold Fire Trilogy...

My least favorite was The Long Price Quartet..

Now that the list has been updated, how many have you read?
14 if you count having read them as at least having read one volume in the series. Some I've read more of (Dresden files, Black Company) and some I'm a little behind on (Locke Lamora, Way of Kings).

I'm at 9, I've also read some books of others series (The Magicians Trilogy, the Discworld, Black Company). There's quite a few changes to the list. Some of the new things I'll certainly read (City of Stairs).

I was actually upgraded - what with Discworld, Dark Tower, Night Watch and Gemmel I'm up to 15, out of which I've completed 13 (read only 7 Dresden books and 1 Night Watch book).

I'm currently reading Words of Radiance so I'm counting this one as completed since I'll probably finish it in a week or two. As for Discworld, I've read them all apart from the dedicated children books within the series and the last one, but I figure reading 30+ books of it qualifies as completing it.

With the new list i've 12/25 Series started and 6/25 Finished. So there is still a lot to do for me^^
But some books I will probably never read (e.g. discworld), because I only have a finite amount of time and there are so many great books, so that I have to set my priorities.
Furthermore I really enjoy the game of thrones TV series as well as the lord of the rings movies - I think even if the books are even better , the gap between books and TV series/movies can't be as big. Therefore I'd prefer something new and will sadly never read 2 of the top 5s. Any opinions on that?

Below you can find the new list - in case you're too lazy to visit the main page or just want a checklist to see how much you've already read of it :)
