This second trilogy brings Corum's story to a close; I preferred it to the first, but both have a special appeal. Corum Jhaelen Irsei is a Vadagh prince, his people now receding before the rise of other humans, Men, and he is summoned to fight the Cold Folk, the Fhoi Myore, to defend the Men of another time, who are now the ones on the verge of extinction. (Corum is yet another incarnation of Moorcock's 'Eternal Champion', embodied as Elric and others.)
