In Corum's world, things are shifting: the older races, Vadagh and Ngadragh, are being pushed aside by the vile upstarts, the Mabden (Men). Massacre and mutilation begin the journey of the Vadagh Prince, Corum Jhaelen Irsei, by magic and sword to stifle the Gods of Chaos and restore balance to the world. One might say that its its fantastic elements tend less to the pulp-world of Conan and more to the psychedelic, perhaps, but it's a wonderful read in any event. (Corum is one incarnation of Moorcock's 'Eternal Champion', who is also realized as Elric, Hawkmoon and others.)
