I enjoyed this book, that being said it moves very very slow. That partly why I liked it though, very good descriptions of characters and scenery and a lot of other things.

I find your description offensive. Not all Irish pubs are filled with drunks on St. Patrick's day. In fact, real Irish pubs were closed on St. Patrick's day until the 1970's, long after American's thought it was appropriate to get drunk on a religious holiday. The reason North America drinks so much on that day is because it is racist. Ever since the Irish came to America, the general population has thought of Irish people as drunken brawlers, and they still do (look at Notre Dame's mascot). So, you might want to pick a less racist metaphor.

I have to agree with above poster, also you say he doesn't try to copy Martin.

News-Flash Tad Williams has been writing since before Martin. And MARTIN HIMSELF has said he used Tad Williams' Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn series as INSPIRATION for Game of Thrones...

So Martin copies Tad Williams (not literally, but figuratively since he used Williams as inspiration) and your description is depicting the other way around...

It is laughable to me that you write these reviews for a living. I may not be a "writer" like you, but I know how to double check facts. And not be a racist in the process either.

    You're an idiot.
