Brutally brilliant, epic and even funny in places, the first law series shows readers a consistently gritty world with characters that grow on you in their relationships to one another.

Very well written. Fairly gripping plot. Predictable in some places. Very gritty, particularly near the end. Also near the end, the book series starts falling apart a little (it starts feeling rushed).

I was entertained but I can't say that I liked this series. Once I had the theme of the books in mind it became very predictable. When I was done I was left with my guts squirming.
