These are great. Butcher's Dresden Files and Laurel K.'s Anita Blake books 1-9 both own and define urban fantasy.

I would say Anita Blake 1-7. The rest is too freaky for me.

I love this series. The protagonist is awesome yet relatable, and all the supporting characters are brilliantly done. The books delve into some moral and philosophical themes, but this doesn't detract from the entertainment value. Seriously, just buy them all.

I absolutely LOVEEEEEE the Dresden Files by Jim Butcher. I devour all things urban fantasy and it is my TOP series. There is non stop action, unexpected twists, poetic justice, a web of characters that overlap in ways you would never guess, and all elements of supernatural, yet a heavy dose of reality to ground the story as believable in modern day Chicago! I am anxiously waiting the rest of the series because there are supposedly 20 books (in total) promised to us. HIGHLY RECOMMEND DRESDEN FILES

I remember when I had neck surgery I had to lay in bed with a neck brace on. It was horrible, but necessary. Since it was tough for me to read, or even move, a friend lent me his Dresden audio books. They would completely relieve me of my pain and anxiety. I was so enthralled by this excellent series. A perfect blend of humor, fantasy, and great story telling. The narrator was particular good taking on the voices of Harry Houdini Dresden. Highly recommended.

    Hi everyone!

Would love if you guys check out my new book "The Hive: The Matriarch Saved"

    Here's a short summary:
When Earth is invaded, Evonne witnesses her family’s deaths and wakes up imprisoned in a room with other women of childbearing age. They undergo torturous experiments before being rescued by seemingly human alien warriors on a reconnaissance mission. Evonne’s ordeal has unleashed new abilities in her, powers she can’t fully understand or control.

Would love to know your guys thoughts :)

You can get a sneak peek of the first chapter on my website: http://jyobooks.com :)
