These books are the reason why my dad taught me to read . I mean when i was 7 i read all the classic like jules verne and then i got older and read " normal " books like John Grisham and so on. Then someday i went to a fantasy store called fantask in Denmark and got recormended to try the first book and i loved it so much. So 30 years after i fell like a child again and reading my first book . The world are amazing and i fell my mind make wounderous pictures of the chars and the story. I will always love my dad for teachi g me to read :) may he rest in peace .will love him forever .

Strong characters and great story. Not standard mindless fantasy.

i really enjoyed gardens of the moon, albeit i had to read some of the parts twice to stay with the story but that didn't take a way from the entertainment, im just not used to this kind of epic/really good writing.

The world is fantastically set up, several characters and elements are unique and interesting. There is a lot to recommend about the book.

The down-side however is a the general lack of plot, and the author's constant urge to make things more EPIC!!! So every new random character or encounter is something super powerful that can destroy the world, and they are always defeated by deus ex machina as new super powers are revealed about existing characters. It is imaginative, but very formuleric and silly.

Love love love the series. As the author commented somewhere, the first book elicits strong responses in the reader; either they hate the ambiguity, the fast pace and confusion or this is a source of intrigue that continues being added to trough the next books. Truly deserving of epic for me.

I love this series. It takes a lot to follow but is fantastic in its scope and imagination. Not your standard fantasy rubbish
