I and a great number of friends, and now children, have read and re-read "The belgariad" for love and the excuse to dive into fantasy. I remember my dad giving me the first book when i was 16, thinking than that tolkin was a hero. Didn't take love to fall in love with eddings and adventures. Love to see a movie made. I have read all 10 books so often the pages are coming apart. My children grew up with the story, have read the books, love every moment.

I am 39 years old and I read this series when I was around 20. Some years later I took on The Mallorean cycles and the tales about Belgarath the sorcerer and then Polgara the Sorceress. I have re-read the series 3 times since and I love it every time. It is humorous, it has familiarity, it is down to earth - I love it !

How Rawlings is higher than Eddings I don't know. Eddings is broader, more literate and certainly much more enjoyable.

The first few books are entertaining as you discover the world Edding creates, but it gets lost in endless trivial twists and personal sidtracks and stalls out. Another victim of unending sequel flu.

The belgariad great. The Mallorean (second series-sequel) great but does get a bit long winded at times. Overall 9.9 out of 10.

This series is amazing. I first started reading it when I was twelve, but got bored and kept playing video games, but when I was 15 I started reading them again, and since then I've reread the series twice. Some of the best!

Great book, much broader than some fantasy I've read and the charecters are brilliantly written.

This book series straight up changed my life. Incredible. In my opinion, it's the best series that has ever been written. I was deeply depressed when they were over.

Would love to know if it was twin boys or girls at the end of the second series. Pol had to give up her sister, look after boys inly, plus ce'nedra just had a girl, hate noy knowing for sure
